Do you have a burning question about make-up? Send me your questions and I will respond as soon as I can!

What can I do to stop my eyeliner from smudging throughout the day?

If you are using a pencil, set the liner by going over it with the same color of eyeshadow. The powder in the shadow will help set the liner. Alternatively, you can buy a "gel eyeliner" which, with a little practice, is a breeze to drawn on with an angle brush. Gel liner will last all day without smudging onto the lid, or under the eye; and is generally waterproof, too. Once you try it you may never look back!

Powder accentuates the lines and/or pores on my face. What can I do?

I encourage people with mature or dry skin to use cream-based products, such as a cream foundation. If you have very dry skin, you should look for oil-based products as opposed to water-based ones. You can also use a cream or gel blush, and cream highlighter; this will give you a "dewy look", and not accentuate fine lines. A very light "dusting" of powder will set your foundation. To minimize the look of pores for oily skin, you can use a primer (after you moisturize, but before foundation.) Primer will smooth out any lines or pores on your face to make your skin look completely flawless. Alot of primers are good for your skin, too.

How can I create a quick "smokey-eye look?"

When I'm in a hurry, I will start by applying brown eye-shadow all the way around the eye. You can apply it thin and neatly, or thick and generously. Then, I use black eyeliner and draw liner around the eye, top and bottom. I use my pinky finger to smudge the black eyeliner so it kindof "fades" into the brown shadow. Smudging is key. Never forget to finish off with mascara, it completes the look. If you're feeing courageous, try using colors, such as green shadow with blue liner. Experimenting with your makeup on a Saturday night "in", is a fun way to spend time.
